Frequently Asked Questions
Is it Secure?
Yes, Touchstone Mobile ensures that no data resides on the phone and transactional data is encrypted one way to the phone and from the phone. Not only that all transactional processing is carried out within the banks firewall and not on the mobile device.
As well as having the ability to use card readers, one-time passwords, variable processing limits and encrypted security codes in the Touchstone Portal database known only to the user, Touchstone Mobile also has its own embedded security layer.
This ID Insure Agent provides greater resilience and security than traditional https protection and has a secure one time encrypted channel that is destroyed and never re-used. Not only that, its’ security provisions are so strong that AON and Munich RE are prepared to offer Insurance products against our security layer.
Do you have to be an Internet User?
No, you can be both, but our system has no requirement for you to be a user of the Internet to access the Mobile application.
Can I see all my accounts from a single application?
Yes, you can. If you have rights from the bank to look at an account, it can be grouped within your application and you can see and carry out transactions on that account based on the mandate instructions held by the bank. This also applies to Credit Cards. However, you can only look at accounts and cards held with that Bank.
What are the supported platforms and applications?
Currently we have applications for the iPhone, iTouch, Blackberry Bold and Curve and will shortly be releasing applications for Windows Mobile and Symbian phones as well.
In addition to this, any phone that has a web browser can use the browser to connect to the system once they have a user name and password from the bank.
How is the solution acquired?
As with all of our products, Touchstone Mobile is available on a subscription fee that is based on the number of users. This offers a completely risk free approach meaning that you only pay for what you use and also provides functional enhancements and upgrades to the system within the subscription fee that the bank pays for the system.
This ensures that the bank no longer has to worry about technology changes, new operating systems and supporting a plethora of different devices. All that is done by Petra.
Does the end user have to pay for the application?
No, there are no additional charges by Petra Financial to end users. Touchstone Mobile is licensed by your bank or financial institution and provided to its customers as part of the service.
How often will the system be updated?
We plan to offer a semi annual release of new functionality from January 2011. Prior to that we plan a release every quarter in March, June, September and December to ensure that our customers get the most out of working with us. Of course, it is entirely up to the bank to decide when and how often they wish to upgrade the functionality of their system.
How do I differentiate myself from the competition?
Uniquely, Petra offers its customers the ability to package up the functionality they choose to use with their own distinct look and feel. Of course, if you wish to use all of the functionality as an application you can, but we prefer to leave you to choose what and how you wish to deliver to your clients. We merely provide you the options and the support to go in any direction you feel is the best for your business.
How many phones will it run on?
Touchstone Mobile runs on any device that has a 3G or Wi-Fi connection using the browser version of Touchstone Mobile.
Downloadable applications are available for Blackberry Phones and the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. Shortly, Symbian and Windows Mobile versions will be available to support other smart phones.
